We are officially less than a week away from the first day of practice! I've tried to include all the important information for the upcoming season in one email. Please make sure to update your information on the google doc spreadsheet below.
The number of players registered at each weight class is extremely important as it determines the number of teams and coaches needed. For this reason, we don’t want players switching weight classes later in the process. I have included a google doc link below. Please make sure to fill in your child’s accurate weight in the “weight at home column.” If there is a weight issue, I will reach out.
It goes without saying that the first two weeks of practice are very important because we will be assessing the players to determine which team they should be placed on. We will do everything possible to make sure all players get evaluated, but understand that August vacation does have a practical impact on that process. Please give us a heads up by filling in any August vacation dates on the google doc, and we will try to accommodate during evaluations.
As it stands, we are currently at a registration number that necessitates three teams. But as of now, we still need more parent volunteers to make that happen. Please reach out to me directly if you are willing to coach. Ultimately, if no one volunteers, it will be the players who suffer as it will force us have too many players on each team leading to less playing time and less opportunity to try different positions.
First Week of Practice
Practice begins Monday, August 8th. The Location and time is still to be determined, but expect a start time between 5:30 and 6:30pm with a two hour practice. The first week is a modified equipment week, meaning we will progressively add equipment throughout the week as we build toward full contact. This is to ensure the players get properly acclimated.
· M-Helmets Only (No Contact)
· T-Helmets, Shoulder Pads, Shorts (No Contact)
· W-Full Equipment (No Contact)
· TH-Full Equipment (Full Contact)
· F- Full Equipment (Full Contact)
Practice will remain 5 days a week, until around the time school starts for the kids at which time it will be moved to three nights a week. Those practice nights will be team specific.
All the equipment is provided with the exception of a girdle, mouthpiece, chinstrap, cleats, and practice jersey. A girdle is just compression shorts with built in pads for the hips and thighs. This goes under the football pants that were provided at equipment issue. I’ve included an example below. As for the practice jersey, any kind of jersey or shirt that fits comfortably over the pads will do.

Team Break Down
Our goal is to have three teams including one American team (A Team) and two national teams. We will likely breakdown into these individual teams sometime during the second week of practice. Again, we need a parent volunteer to make this happen.
All players need either DMV ID card or school identification card/SIS information page printout to weigh in. If your printout page does not have a picture, bring some form of photo identification as a supplement (Ex. passport). The first weigh in will be August 13th at Marshall HS, followed by a second weigh-in on August 20th at the same location.
Regular season games will begin on September 17th. Expect scheduled preseason games on the weekends before the 17th.
